Details: Join us for a two-hour skill-builder session where we will play around in boats winter open pool session at Naperville North High School.
Some will choose practice assisted and self rescue techniques, others will play with different strokes, others might just want to paddle around the pool and watch along. This is not a structured class but is an opportunity to practice skills with support. This program is perfect for paddlers who are looking to refine their skills. These techniques are used when in deep water where shore access is not immediately available. We will not be practicing river rescue technique (i.e. throw bag use, entrapment, pinned boat, etc.)
If you are bringing your own boat, it must be completely free of leaves, dirt, etc. before entering the pool.
Participants must wear a properly fitted PFD. You are encouraged to bring your own boat and paddle. Whitewater kayaks and paddles are available for rent for $5.
Payment of $10 for the pool session time to the Naperville Park District (cash only) is required on-site to participate.
