Details:

This workshop is ideal for both long-time and potential trip leaders, instructors, and anyone else wanting to develop greater skill organizing and safely leading groups on the water.

Examples of topics of focus include:

Pre-trip planning
Pre-launch group management
Participant and leader expectation management
Instructional models
Group abilities
Environmental awareness
On-Water group management
Risk assessment, incident avoidance and management
Communication on and off the water
Positioning
Dealing with the unexpected

If you're looking for three hours of war stories about how Cousin Eddie got pinned on that nasty rock, this isn't the place. Just practical stuff you can use to lead your first, or 100th trip.

This program will be held indoor at a location in the Naperville area and will precede the PSC Pool Party at Naperville North High School. Please make a day of it by joining us for both programs.
