Details:  They will be closing the river in Shorewood @Hammel Woods to remove the dam on July 12 and it will be closed through October...so let's go now! Contact us if you are interested in going; carshift @ 10:30 am. There is a portage required around the Dam in Hammel Woods. Google map to put in; you should be able to add your starting point to get directions. Riverside Parkway is on the west Frontage Road on I-55 just south of Caton Farm Road, in Joliet…there is a stoplight at the frontage road and it is the east edge of the Riverside Towns townhouse complex.
